Quest Academy Charter School  of Montclair will offer a dynamic curriculum for all students that will exceed the standards set by the New Jersey High School Proficiency Exam (HSPA).  The core values will be founded on the mission of offering a learner-centered collaborative secondary academic program that includes community, family and personal connections, combined with cutting-edge tools and technology to foster critical inquiry in a consistently responsive environment of high expectations and strong engagement.

Technology and arts will be infused throughout the college preparatory curriculum.  Each year, students will be required to present performance-based projects to panels of teachers and parents, in addition to passing the HSPA test in grade 11 and completing a service learning project to meet graduation requirements by grade 12.

The dynamic classroom instruction and performance-based assessment will be driven by New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards.  The curriculum will be designed to build on each learner’s strengths while focusing on the whole child to allow for future growth.  Inquiry-based, cooperative and project-based lessons will foster critical thinking skills and create concrete learning experiences from which to grow and add new material.  Through small-group instruction, students will be encouraged to develop a true understanding of course content, extend their learning, and explore areas of interest.  Academic rigor and accountability will be established through an inclusive academic model, which will use a variety of methods and educational experiences to ensure that all learning styles and skill levels are valued and nurtured.
Vision
About Us

We are parents, educators and community members who have come together to form the Quest Academy Charter School of Montclair Founding Group with the aspiration of creating a  public secondary school that will give parents and students an educational alternative to what currently exists.  This work is fueled by the desire to create a small, stimulating learning environment for students.  Small schools mean students and instructors really know one another, which allows teachers to provide more personalized attention to their students.
